POLICY FOR SCHOOL CANCELLATION DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHERIf school is to be closed due inclement weather, the Superintendent (or designee) will make that decision the night before if at all possible.If that decision is to be made in the morning, the Superintendent (or designee) and the Transportation Director will trvel some of the district roads and make a decision based on their findings. The announcement will be made on local radio stations by 6:15 AM. Little Rock television stations will also be notified. If school is to be dismissed early during the day, the Superintendent (or designee) will notify the Transportation Department so the drivers can be alerted. When the weather is threatening, drivers are instructed to stay by their telephones so they may be given specific instructions. If they are away from their home phone, they must give the Transportation Department a number where they can be reached or contact the Department themselves for details of the early dismissal.
