Dear Searcy Schools Military Families,

Welcome to a new school year! I am honored to serve as the Military Family Liaison for Searcy Schools and to support our military-connected students and families through our Purple Star Schools program.

As a district, we are proud to recognize the service and sacrifice of our military families. We understand that military life brings unique experiences—frequent relocations, deployments, and transitions—and we are committed to ensuring that every student feels supported, connected, and successful in our schools.

The Purple Star Schools program is designed to provide consistent, meaningful support to military-connected students and their families. Through this program, Searcy Schools offers:

• Transition Support: Assistance with enrollment, records transfers, and course placement to help students quickly adjust to their new school environment.
• Academic Continuity: Collaboration with teachers and counselors to ensure students stay on track academically, regardless of previous school systems.
• Social and Emotional Support: Access to caring staff who understand the challenges of military life, including deployment cycles and reintegration.
• Military Culture Awareness: Ongoing training for faculty and staff to better serve and understand military-connected students.
• Student Connections: Opportunities for students to build friendships with peers who share similar experiences.
• Family Engagement: Open communication and a dedicated point of contact for questions, resources, and advocacy.

In a community like Searcy, where many families serve in the National Guard and Reserve, we understand that military responsibilities can arise quickly and unexpectedly. Our goal is to provide stability, flexibility, and support for your child no matter what changes may come.
