Searcy School District is pleased to announce that Dr. Marc Sherrell was hired by the Searcy School District Board of Education as Assistant Superintendent for Support Services following the recommendation by Superintendent Diane Barrett at the February Board of Directors meeting. Sherrell currently serves as the Support Services Director, Athletic Director, and interim high school principal at Lonoke School District. He holds degrees from Arkansas State University, University of Missouri at St. Louis, William-Woods University, Southeast Missouri State University, and he most recently earned his Ed.D in Educational Leadership from Arkansas Tech University in Russellville. His former school districts include public school districts in Missouri as well as Blytheville and Valley View in Arkansas before joining the Lonoke School District in 2013. Dr. Sherrell will be replacing Dr. Randy Byrd, who is retiring on June 30. The district looks forward to welcoming Dr. Sherrell to the Searcy Public Schools family.
