Way to go AJHS!!! You raised $954 towards our annual Operation Homefront Toy Drive! Thanks to all the teachers who volunteered to be slimed. We are proud of Mrs. Holleman for raising over $200. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and remember we begin collecting toys the Monday we return.

Our students did an amazing job honoring the nation's veterans today during our annual Veterans Day Assembly. Thank you to Mr. Norm Storm for reminding us what Veterans Day is all about.

Any student that did not have their picture taken previously will do so then along with any student wishing to re-take their picture. If you are re-taking your picture you MUST bring back your proof sheet or picture package.
For national Red Ribbon Week, Sophie Sligh, a registered nurse at Arkansas Children's Hospital & Miss Greater Little Rock, and Bella Crowe, Miss Greater Little Rock Teen, presented a program as ambassadors of the American Heart Association about the negative effects of vaping. They gave tips on how to stay away from vaping and how students could join the Tobacco Endgame Movement. To learn more about Tobacco Endgame please visit this link: tobaccoendgame.org.
Ahlf Jr. High will welcome Sophe Sligh and Bella Crowe, American Heart Association advocates, to speak with the student body concerning vaping on Thursday, October 27. There will be fun swag and trivia as we discuss the Tobacco Endgame! If you want to learn more now, text ENDGAME to 46839.

Reminder: Parent-Teacher Conferences are tomorrow, Tuesday, October 18 from 3:45pm-7:15pm in the AJHS Cafeteria. Parents can pick up the first 9 weeks report cards as well as visit with teachers concerning their child's progress in class. They may also shop the book fair during this time.
School pictures were sent home with students today. The Fall Scholastic Book Fair is now open at AJHS!! Students may start shopping tomorrow morning, Friday, October 14 at 7:20 a.m.. The book fair will run until next Thursday, October 20 at 3:30 p.m. Parents may also shop on Tuesday, October 18 during Parent/Teacher Conferences.
