Feb reading challenge

February calendars will come home today!! Westside students are being encouraged to read outside the classroom this year. We have had monthly reading challenges in the months of September, October, and January so far and will have another one in April. (REMINDER: Completed January calendars are to be turned into Ms. Kim this Thurs-Fri, Feb. 1-2.) Students who read at least 15 minutes every day of February AND log the title of the book read in the calendar square, will receive a free book. This can be a book they read to or with a parent OR a book they are reading independently! If it is a chapter book that takes several days to finish, that’s okay…They just need to write that same title in every square that they read from that book. Parent/Guardian MUST sign the calendar and have the student return it on the date listed. Students will turn these February calendars into Ms. Kim in the library Friday, March 1st to pick out their free book!! This is strictly VOLUNTARY and is being offered to encourage our students to improve their reading and vocabulary skills by reading outside of school. Go here if your student lost their February calendar or didn't make it home with one and needs one: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1BBrDWbbPnyn2w8nIGaEgG23mxaGFL2rX/view?usp=drive_link
