AJHS Operation Homefront Toy Drive begins Monday, November 27!!

AJHS wishes you a Happy Thanksgiving! Enjoy your break!

AJHS will kick off its annual Operation HomeFront Toy Drive on Monday, November 27. Students are asked to bring brand-new toys to be donated to Arkansas military families this holiday season. The toy drive will run from Monday, November 27 - Wednesday, December 6. Our goal is to bring in $10,000 worth of toys.

Tomorrow is the last day to donate money for our Operation Homefront Toy Drive AND win a chance to pie a teacher in the face!! Any student donating $1 or more will also be able to wear a hat during school tomorrow.

These students received positive referrals this week for RESPONSIBLE, RESPECTFUL, PROFESSIONAL, and SAFE behavior at school. Way to go! We are PROUD of you!!

The Unified partners and athletes competed in the Area 6 Special Olympics Bowling Tournament on Wednesday, Nov, 8th. Of the teams that participated, AJHS had 4 teams that placed 1st, 2 teams that placed 2nd, 1 team that placed 3rd, and 1 team that placed 4th. We had extra partners that served as the "positivity patrol" and cheered for all the teams. Four teams will participate in the State Special Olympics Bowling Tournament that will be held in Little Rock on December 7th. This is the first year that AJHS has had a unified team. We are proud of all of our athletes and partners!

Progress reports will be coming home with students today. Please ask your child to see the report and feel free to reach out to teachers concerning your student's grades

Pie a Teacher & Wear a Hat!! A donation of $1 or more will enable students to wear a hat on Friday, November 17.

The AJHS National Jr. Honor Society held an assembly today to honor our community's veterans. Major General Jonathan Stubbs, 54th Adjutant General of the Arkansas National Guard spoke to the students, our 8th grade band and a special AJHS Mixed Choir performed. At the closing of the ceremony, Major General Stubbs honored our students who currently have a parent deployed. To view an order of events, click the link below. AJHS will host a Veterans Day Assembly tomorrow, Friday, November 11 at 9:45 a.m. All guests are asked to arrive 15 minutes early and check in through the office.

We hope all our Searcy School District families will join us at Lion Arena tomorrow night. Free admission for all Searcy fans. Bring your family and friends, and let's fill the arena for our special dedication night! Girls game begins at 6pm and boys will follow.

Earlier this week all AJHS choir students who auditioned for All-Region went to Harding University to see Mary Poppins: The Musical. Our very own AJHS choir teacher, Mrs. Stacey Neely, was also the music director for the performance. She arranged for our students to have a Q & A with the cast after the performance.

Lots of fun was had yesterday as the AJHS faculty and staff supported the 8th-grade football team at their last home game. Thanks to Centennial Bank for providing food for a tailgate party before the game! We are so proud of our student athletes!
