April is the month of the military child. Tomorrow, April 19, Searcy School District is celebrating some of the military's most unsung heroes-the military children. All students and staff are invited to help us celebrate our military families by wearing purple. We are grateful to the service of these men and women and their whole families!
It's time for our annual Bucket Challenge for Special Olympics! In the past Deener has been a leader in fundraising for this and we hope to remain that way! Please help us support Special Olympics in our area by sending your spare change to school, with your students on April 20th! (That is only TWO days away!)

Coming soon! Searcy Spring Job Fair April 21st
2nd grade Art has been studying the Art of Charley Harper. Harper grew up on a farm and loved animals and he always wanted to be an artist. He has painted everything from birds, bison, rabbits, dogs, fawns, ocean animals even to microscopic little creatures. His art has even been chosen for use in science text books. Our students studied his painting of the Fawn and created their own take on a Charley Harper Fawn. They were all so proud of their work!

The 3rd grade leadership committee recently partnered with members of the Searcy High School EAST class and the school mascot, Leo the Lion, to demonstrate appropriate and inappropriate behaviors at different locations throughout the school. These demonstrations will help Sidney Deener students know more about good choices to make while at school. Thank you to the high school students for partnering with us!
