
Mrs. Lawson’s 4th grade classes visited the Searcy Recycling Center and the Searcy Water Treatment Plant yesterday. They learned about the processes used at those facilities. We appreciate our city employees who work to keep the water and Searcy clean!

SWMS is honored to be the 2023 Bucket Challenge winners benefiting Special Olympics Area 6! Our campus collected the most money during the annual bucket challenge led by the Searcy Police Department. Thank you to everyone that donated!

Mrs. Evans’s 5th grade Science classes are set to release approximately 60 monarch butterflies by the end of our school year. This is our third season to do this butterfly release. We have harvested the eggs, fed them and cared for them through their entire metamorphic cycle. This is the most butterflies we have had in the three seasons that Mrs. Evans’ classes have been doing this.

4th Grade students celebrate the end of ACT Aspire testing by watching Disney’s “Hercules.” They are studying Greek Mythology in Literacy.

Our 5th grade SWMS Robotics Rendezvous Club held it's annual showcase for their parents on April the 25th. We are really proud of these students for their efforts in constructing and programming SPIKE Prime Lego robots. Next year, they will be competing as 6th graders in the FIRST Lego League Challenge! Way to go team members:

CATERPILLARS ARE BACK!
We have the 2nd generation of March butterflies (caterpillars) that are growing in Mrs. Evans's room with hope to release them closer to the end of the school year. We have around 100 eggs and about 50 caterpillars at the moment.
How exciting!
