September is HERE! Check out this awesome calendar of daily activities that can be done at home to increase early literacy skills! One of our favorite ideas for this month happens on Sept 7th ( take a fun nature walk in your neighborhood or nearby park as a family)

Back to School includes many fun firsts… one thing our classes always excitedly await is getting to select new books from the media center! New teachers, new friends, NEW BOOKS!📚

New Staff Spotlight: Katie Hollis
Hello! I am teaching first grade! This is my fifth year of teaching. Before moving to Sidney Deener, I taught at Judsonia Elementary School. In the past four years, I have taught sixth grade math/science, second grade, and first grade.
My favorite thing about teaching is building relationships with my students and making learning fun! I believe every classroom should be a safe place full of smiles and laughter, and I love seeing my students' confidence grow in their learning throughout the school year!

We love having our cafeteria tables lined with happy students again!
Have you filled out a free/ reduced lunch form? These forms help our school in several ways..one of which is to help families gain access to great meals!

Don't forget the Scouting Informational Meeting on Thursday, September 1.

It’s superhero time!! Mrs.Stroud went to all of our classes last week to explain our superhero of the week process! A new crew of superheroes will be named this Friday!

We are so thankful for our SRO, Officer Smith! He may be a new face around Deener but he is already doing a great job investing in our students. They love showing him the ropes on the playground!

Our annual Kindergarten COLOR WEEKS are here!! Please join ( even if you are not in Kinder) in the fun. Each day our Kindergarten students will explore a new color.

Rock House Mentoring begins September 6. Big thanks to this Harding University group for working with Searcy students!

Parents, if you haven't had the opportunity to complete the free/reduced lunch application, be sure to do so and be entered into reward drawings! Get the information at the following link.

2nd graders are already hard at work!During math time they practiced ways to make 10!

Thank you for your patience and support as we work through the first week of school! As we get comfortable with all the NEW that comes with the beginning of school please keep a few things in mind for our drop-off and pick-up!

First days always come with alot of anticipation and information! Here is a simpler to-do list to check while prepping for the new school year beginning Tomorrow, August 22nd! We can't wait to see everyone!

One day left!

Open house was a success! We LOVED hosting our students and their families last night. Thank you to Northstar EMS for helping with teacher training and hosting a fingerprinting safety card booth, and 100 families for for hosting table at open house! Share your open house pics with us!

It takes a village of people and resources to make a school a central part of a community. We are so thankful for our PTO. They prepared a wonderful breakfast table for Deener teachers during our training this week. Thank you to all who support your teachers!

Here we go! A new year is right around the corner. We are so excited to see students back on campus on Monday, August 22nd.
Reminder: Car Drop-Off begins at 7:35 AM, at that time staff will open the doors and begin welcoming students!

It has finally arrived! Open house is today from 1-7 pm. It is a fun come and go time to meet your teachers, see your classrooms, and connect all while having a treat! Hope to see you there.

Thank you knightfire bbq for making our baked potato bar extra delicious! Deener teachers had a fantastic lunch during professional development today.
