White Co Comm Foundation

Searcy School District is pleased to receive a $2500 grant from the White County Community Foundation (WCCF) to fund  Searcy School District's new prekindergarten program. The grant will be used to purchase the program's social/emotional curriculum entitled Second Step Early Learning. The curriculum is shown to significantly increase executive function leading to kindergarten readiness. Second Step’s mission is to create successful learners, empower adults in their teaching, provide common language, and improve academics. Pictured are WCCF board members Gary Patel and Kelly Whitley and WCCF executive director Denice Eaves presenting the check to Searcy School District prekindergarten director Lee Anne Russell. Dr. Bobby Hart and Betsy Bailey are also pictured. Searcy School District is grateful for this contribution and look forward to implementing the curriculum in the new prekindergarten program this coming fall.
