Searcy High School history and government teacher Amanda Simpson has been named the 2023 Pat Berry Secondary Teacher of the Year by the Arkansas Association of College History Teachers (AACHT). She will attend a luncheon at the AACHT Annual Conference where she will receive her award at the Old State House in Little Rock.
The AACHT was founded in 1974 and created with the goals of improving teaching of History for all levels of instruction, advancing professional interests of its membership, and establishing a closer rapport among various History faculties. It promotes excellence in teaching; innovation in the classroom; and collaboration among historians.
