Searcy School District was notified that Jerry Evans, Searcy High School wrestling coach and Ahlf Junior High School Dean of Students, was selected by the National Federation of State High School Coaches Association, as the 2022-2023 Arkansas Coach of the Year!
Evans was nominated by the Arkansas Activities Association for his coaching performance during the 2022-2023 school year, his community involvement, school involvement and philosophy of coaching. This award is also based on coaches who are leading in their sport, shaping athletes, and contributing to their own community. Coach Evans has built the Searcy wrestling program from the ground up and continues to produce region, state, and national competitors.
