Searcy School District was proud to learn that two of our campuses have been recognized by the University of Arkansas’s Office of Educational Policy for high achievement on the ACT Aspire standardized test. Westside Elementary School was recognized in the top 5 schools in the Northeast Region based on Overall Elementary ACT Aspire Growth as well as English/Language Arts Growth. They placed 5th and 3rd respectively. Sidney Deener Elementary School earned the fifth place ranking in the Northeast region for English/Language Arts ACT Aspire Growth. Congratulations to both Westside and Sidney Deener!
Speaking of recognition, we were elated to learn that for the second year in a row, Sidney Deener Elementary School received notification that it was named the Best of the Best Elementary School in Central Arkansas by Arkansas Democrat-Gazette readers, and Southwest Middle School was once again named the Best of the Best Middle School in Central Arkansas. We appreciate our families and community members who continually support our campuses across this district.
Not only do we receive support educationally, but we receive support from community partners in other areas. For anyone who has visited Lion Stadium or even driven by the field, he/she is sure to have seen the new digital scoreboard on the north end of the stadium. With the help of local businesses, we are able to provide a state of the art board that is one of the two largest in Arkansas. Not only are we able to provide athletic highlights, but we can recognize students, staff members, district schools, and spectators can easily see the live stream of the event on the large screen.
