Dr. Nancy Snyderman Book Awards - In 1998 at the Third Annual Scholars Banquet, Dr. Nancy Snyderman, noted physician, television commentator, author and lecturer, was the guest speaker. After her speech that evening and after she observed the awards ceremony, she returned the honorarium that she was receiving for speaking back to the Scholars Committee. She instructed that the money should be a startup for the Dr. Nancy Snyderman Book Award. Over the years the fund grew from private donations, and the books are purchased with the interest accrued. She further instructed that each year the valedictorian and salutatorian of the Searcy High school graduating class should have the choice of any book that he or she would like to add to a personal library.

Scholars Ceremony Scholarships - As a part of the Annual Scholars Ceremony recognition of the valedictorian and salutatorian, it was decided to award scholarship money from the school district to these top scholars.
