Searcy School District Board of Directors is very pleased to announce the hiring of Dr. Bobby Hart as Searcy School District superintendent effective July 1, 2021, during a special called school board meeting this evening. He will replace Superintendent Diane Barrett following her retirement after a 45-year career in education.

Dr. Hart is currently the superintendent at Hope Public Schools and is completing his 27th year in education. He earned his undergraduate and Masters of Science in Education degrees from Henderson State University and his Doctor of Education in Educational Administration from Texas A&M in Commerce, Texas. 

Hart served in the Genoa and Newport school districts as a building principal and before that had experience as an athletic director, coach, and classroom teacher. He is a member of the Arkansas Association of Educational Administrators, acts as A Framework for Understanding Poverty trainer, serves as a board member for the Arkansas Imagination Library and the Arkansas Public School Resource Center Rural Advisory. Additionally, he is an educational representative for the Arkansas State Police Child Abduction Response Team. Dr. Hart was inducted into the Southern Arkansas University Educational Leadership Hall of Fame in 2019.
