Glasser Headshot

Searcy School District is proud to announce that Ahlf Junior High School 8th grade science teacher Kyla Glasser has been selected as the 2021-2022 Searcy School District Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Glasser is part of the school leadership team, head of the science department at Ahlf Junior High, serves on the Capturing Kids Hearts team, acts as Student Government sponsor, and leads a number of extra projects on her campus. In the nomination form submitted,  it states "Kyla is fantastic at engaging her students on a personal level. Her own love for learning is obvious. She is always willing to say 'I don't know, but let's find out--which helps her students understand that learning is never done and is always exciting. She also gives her students real-world scenarios and challenges to work through, as well as equipping them for life-long learning by working and collaborating with their peers on projects and labs." Searcy School District offers a "big congratulations" to Mrs. Glasser! She will compete in the Regional Teacher of the Year competition this summer, and we will honor her next fall.

Superintendent Diane Barrett presents Mrs. Kyla Glasser with congratulatory flowers and a sweet treat upon the announcement of her recognition.
