Searcy School District

The Searcy School District Board of Education voted at tonight's regularly scheduled meeting to appoint Roy Showalter as a board member replacing Dr. Chad Joice, who resigned due to a change in residence. Showalter is a native of Searcy and earned a bachelors of science in education from Southern Arkansas University and a masters degree from the University of Central Arkansas. He is a retired educator having served as the high school media specialist at White County Central School District for twenty-five years. He and his wife, Nancy, are the owners of Stotts Drug Company in downtown Searcy. Showalter is the father of Parker (Jessica) and Anna Claire, and the grandfather of Brooklyn, Bristol, and Bowen Showalter. Congratulations and many thanks to Mr. Showalter for agreeing to serve the Searcy Public Schools, our students, and staff members. We are proud to welcome him to the Searcy School District family!
