Hadia Choudhary

Searcy High School senior Hadia Choudhary, daughter of Naeem and Sadia Choudary, has been selected for an interview with the Arkansas Department of Education (ADE)  to be one of two Arkansas representatives admitted to the Senate Youth Program. In 1962, the U.S Senate passed a resolution creating the United States Senate Youth Program (USSYP), which is a national initiative providing talented young people with demonstrated leadership abilities to deepen their understanding of America’s political process and strengthen their resolve to pursue careers in public service. The USSYP brings the highest-level officials from each  branch of government together with outstanding high school students-two delegates from each of the 50 states. The intensive week-long educational program is held in Washington D.C. during the spring. The merit-based program is highly competitive, and each of the delegates receives a one-time $10,000 undergraduate college scholarship and encourages coursework study in history and/or political science. Searcy School District congratulates Hadia on this outstanding opportunity, and we wish her the best of luck as she begins the next phase of the selection process!
