Coach Paul Simmons and the Harding Bisons welcomed two Searcy School District students, Kayden and Jeremiah, along with Mr. Graham onto the sidelines and in the locker room at First Security Bank stadium today for their game against Southwestern Oklahoma. And what a day it was! Both students were treated like part of the team and said they can’t wait until they head to college one day, too! Big thanks to Coach Simmons and Harding University!

Congratulations to the 9th grade cheer team for receiving the Best Cheer award and 3rd place overall in their division at the Cabot Invitational cheer competition.

Searcy Cheer and Dance teams earned top spots on Saturday at Morrilton’s Southern Spirit Competition. Congratulations to the Searcy High School cheerleaders for earning 1st place in the 5A/6A Game Day, Best Use of Game Day Fight Song, Best Use of Game Day Crowd Leading and being named Grand Champs! The SHS Lionsteppers placed 3rd and won the Judge’s Choice Award for performance dance at the inaugural season for Game Day Arkansas. Finally, the SHS 9th grade cheer squad placed 4th in the contest! Way to bring home the awards, Searcy Spirit Squads. We are so proud and excited about the Cheer Competition Season!

We are all Very proud of the effort in tonight’s 52-51 loss to El Dorado. Kids and coaches did a wonderful job!

The Federal Drug Administration has announced the authorization of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination for children ages 5-11. The two-shot regimen could be available as early as next week. We encourage our families to consider vaccinating your eligible children to avoid illness or severe cases as well as quarantining requirements.

Searcy School District’s COVID data reflects 10-19 infections per 10K. Searcy Schools will remain masks optional for the week of Nov. 1-5. Please get your COVID and Flu vaccines. Check w your building nurse for details.
