Searcy School District is proud to announce we earned FIVE BEST of the BEST in the Readers' Poll by The Daily Citizen. We offer a special "Congratulations" to these OUTSTANDING district employees! And, we are thankful for our gifted leader in Dr. Bobby Hart!

We were happy to have a great turnout at College Night sponsored by the Migrant Education Program. We had approximatley 70 present and learned about ACT scores, scholarships, and FAFSA from Genaro Camarill (University of Arkansas) and Brandon Scaife (UA Little Rock and TRIO). Special thanks to the rest of the TRIO team: Zackery Taylor and Jaleesa Hickman, El Puente, the Co-Op Migrant specialists, Mrs. Pitts and Mrs. Sipes from Searcy, and the Searcy Migrant Paraprofessional Tutors for helping to put on this event

Congratulations to the SHS JR and Sr High boys cross country team for winning the 4th Annual Caveman Cross Country Meet! The XC team is coached by Katie Cooper.

Congratulations to the SHS tennis team for all 12 conference participants qualifying to go to the state tournament! So proud of these student athletes! Go Lions and Lady Lions!

Congratulations to the SHS Tennis for both boys and girls earning a 13-0 season and being conference champions! Best of luck in the state tournament! The SHS tennis team is coached by Doc Watson.

Stanley's Soapbox - September Installment It's hard to believe that we are completing our 5th week of school and the first day of fall is this Thursday (even though our temps are nearing 100 degrees again). I've been so blessed to work with so many wonderful people in the Searcy School District for a little over 2 months. I've been so impressed with this group of people that are dedicated to our motto of "Striving for Educational Excellence" as we prepare our students for life beyond these walls. I want to share some things that are currently happening with our support services staff within the district. 1) Our new arena (pictured) is beginning to take shape and we are looking forward to a completion date in the early part of the spring semester. 2) The safety of our students is paramount and we have partnered with the Searcy Police Department to have a SRO on every campus. 3) Our bus students are utilizing our new Smart Tag system to ensure that we get all of them on their correct buses on a daily basis. 4) We have partnered with Chartwell's to handle our food services and are able to offer more options for our students in each of the cafeterias. In the words of the late Vince Lombardi, "Perfection is not attainable, but if we can chase perfection, we can catch excellence." #ProudtobeaLion #StrivingforEducationalExcellence
